BAXTER COUNTY, AR- A man is under arrest, charged with driving 112 miles-per-hour, and fleeing from police.
21-year-old Jacob Edward Caple was spotted westbound on Highway 178 near Lakeview, in Baxter County.
Deputy Doug Meurer was unable to catch up to the suspect vehicle after clocking the car going 112 in a 55, however a few minutes later, Mountain Home Police Sergeant Brian Corbett radioed he and Officer Rodney Wiggins had the suspect vehicle located at Baxter Regional Medical Center and the suspect in custody.
Caple admitted to officers he saw both Deputy Meurer and Sergeant Corbett but was on his way to the hospital to see a family member who had been taken there earlier in the day.
Caple was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center.
A subsequent search of Caple’s vehicle found schedule II pills, Oxycotin.
Caple has been charged with Speeding, Reckless Driving, Felony Fleeing in a Vehicle, No Seat Belt, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Caple’s bond was set at $3,500.
He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
