LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas House is considering whether to allow action on the state's budget and a repeal of a tax break for truckers to move forward.

House members on Wednesday were scheduled to vote on whether to allow the state's $4.7 billion budget bill to be introduced. Republicans in the majority-Democrat House have said they want to delay that vote, and they have enough votes to block the resolution to consider the bill.

Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe has proposed a budget that increases funding for Medicaid and public schools and keeps most other agencies flat.

The House is also expected to vote on whether to move forward with a proposal to repeal a tax break for truckers that will take effect in July.

Both resolutions require at least 67 votes.
