LITTLE ROCK, AR - Today marks the fifth anniversary of a tragedy in Arkansas politics.

It was on August 13, 2008 that Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman and former State Senator Bill Gwatney was shot to death.

Gwatney, 48, was gunned down in his office by a man he didn't know and whose motive was never established.

The suspect, Timothy Dale Johnson, 50, had been fired from his job at a Conway Target store hours before the shooting and was later shot when police tried to arrest him. Johnson died a short time later at a Little Rock hospital.
