LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Gov. Mike Beebe says he has an idea on how to use one-time money to keep a fund that pays for many of the state's judicial operations solvent, but he wants to see a long-term solution for its funding woes.

Beebe offered no details on how the one-time money could be used — or where it could come from — to address the shortfall in the Administration of Justice Fund. Supreme Court Justice Jim Hannah has said that he plans to ask lawmakers to use as much as $350,000 from the state's surplus to help the fund.

Beebe has used $130,000 from his emergency fund over the past three months to avoid the furloughs of trial assistants.

Beebe made the comments on an interview broadcast on the Talk Business website.
