LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — From opposing abortion in most cases to criticizing President Barack Obama's policies, the three Democrats running to succeed outgoing Congressman Mike Ross are touting their conservative credentials in a south Arkansas district that is trending more Republican.

The May 22 Democratic primary for Ross' 4th district seat feature a longtime state legislator, a Hot Springs attorney and a Little Rock businessman who ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate two years ago.

Three candidates are vying for the Republican nomination, in the state's only congressional race without an incumbent this year.

State Sen. Gene Jeffress, attorney Q. Byrum Hurst and businessman D.C. Morrison are all focusing on the economy and jobs as they try to win votes in this sprawling, 33-county district
