Deputy and suspect suffer hypothermia after suspect flees into lake

A deputy who chased a fleeing suspect into a lake in near freezing temperatures has to be taken to the emergency room for hypothermia after making his arrest.

Im so glad the officer remembered his job description (Protect and serve). If half of the officers had a mind like some of the idiots here. There would be alot of dead people.Good job officer!

If he would have just stood there while the punk was in the water and did nothing, the punks family would have sued and probably won. The deputy did the right thing by going in after the lil punk.

I agree. Next time just wait for him on the banks and dispatch the paramedics out there and wait for him to collapse. Glad your safe!!!

Good job, Officer. I would have given a nickle to watch you stand on the bank and watch him freezing alone in the lake. He might not have made it out alive if it hadn't been for you. lock him up
