Drowning Ruled as Death Cause for Man Found in Well

Methamphetamine intoxication was a contributory cause in death of Daniel Ash Johnson, 28, of Jefferson County.
GRANT COUNTY, AR - The 2012 death of a Jefferson County man whose remains were found in a well has been ruled an accident.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says the State Medical Examiner has ruled the cause of death for Daniel Ash Johnson, 28, was drowning.

The examiner also noted that methamphetamine intoxication was a contributory cause in Johnson's death.

Johnson had been missing since August, following an argument with his ex-wife.

His body was found by a landowner who was trying to find out what was blocking his well.

The well was located was along Grant County Road 75 at the west end of Mail Route Road.
