LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Entergy Arkansas says it has brought in 470 additional workers to assist with power restoration after this week's storms and high winds.

Entergy said Friday fewer than 10,000 customers remained without power after a peak of nearly 43,000 homes and businesses were in the dark Thursday.

The utility says high winds blew over trees and knocked down limbs, leaving 150 utility poles broken.

The most intense damage was in central and southwest Arkansas, including areas in Little Rock, Hot Springs, El Dorado, Arkadelphia, Russellville, Magnolia, Malvern, Conway, and Pine Bluff.

Power was out to thousands of customers in Little Rock and numerous traffic signals were disabled by the winds.

Entergy asks that customers report any downed or dangling power lines.
