Fire Safety Day is This Saturday in Sheridan

Sparky the Fire Safety Robot will be roaming the area(see video).


SHERIDAN, AR- The Fourth Annual Grant County Fire Safety Day is this coming Saturday in Sheridan.

The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Walmart parking.

All children and adults are invited to the free event to learn about fire safety.

The planned displays include the Fire Safety House, a mobile home that is used to teach children and adults how to recognize fire and smoke and how to escape the area. 

The trailer is on loan from the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Sparky the Fire Safety Robot will be roaming the area. 

Sparky, a mechanical Dalmatian, drives around a three-foot fire truck.

Sparky talks, and will squirt water at people that don't talk back. 

Sometimes he will squirt you even if you do talk to him. 

All Grant County fire and rescue departments have been invited to attend. 

These departments include:

  • Arkansas Forestry Commission

  • Calvert Township Volunteer Fire Department

  • Cane Creek Volunteer Fire Department

  • Center Grove Volunteer Fire Department

  • Grant County Rescue

  • Grapevine Volunteer Fire Department

  • Leola Volunteer Fire Department

  • Palestine Volunteer Fire Department

  • Prattsville Volunteer Fire Department

  • Poyen Volunteer Fire Department

  • Sheridan Fire Department

  • Tull Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department

This event is being lead by the Grant County Mutual Aid Fire Association.
