Funeral Services Set for Scott County Sheriff Cody Carpenter

Visitation is Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron. Funeral is Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock at the Waldron High School Football Stadium.
WALDRON, AR - Funeral services have been set for Scott County Sheriff Cody Carpenter, who died Friday while trying to rescue two women trapped by rising flood waters.

Carpenter, 41, died when the rain-swollen Fourche La Fave river turned into a raging torrent.

Arkansas Game & Fish Wildlife Officer Joel Campora was also killed when the boat he and the sheriff were riding in slammed into the debris of a home imploded by the rushing water, tossing them out. The women they were trying to rescue also died.

Visitation for Sheriff Carpenter will be Tuesday from 8:00 a.m until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron.

The sheriff's funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock at the Waldron High School Football Stadium. He will be buried at the Freedom Cemetery near Waldron.
