Gen. Wesley Clark Endorses Mike Ross in Arkansas Governor's Race

Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander calls the candidate a strong leader for the state.
LITTLE ROCK, AR (News Release) - Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander and Retired U.S. Army General Wesley Clark of Little Rock, has endorsed Mike Ross for Governor of Arkansas. Clark, who is a former Democratic candidate for President of the United States and decorated Army veteran, said Ross would be a strong, trusted leader for Arkansas and its many military families and veterans.

“I have known Mike for many years, and he is well respected throughout Congress and the military for his work fighting for this nation’s Armed Forces and the millions of men and women in uniform,” said Clark.  “Mike will address challenges head on like the state’s veterans hospitals and will get results for the more than 250,000 veterans who call Arkansas home. I endorse Mike Ross for Governor, because we needs a strong, trusted leader with a history of a bringing people together to move Arkansas forward.”

Ross said he was honored by Gen. Clark’s endorsement.

“As one of the nation’s most revered and respected military leaders, it is truly an honor to have Gen. Wesley Clark’s support and endorsement in my campaign for governor of Arkansas,” said Ross.  “Gen. Clark and I share the belief that we must take care of the brave men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line in service to our state and nation.  When I’m elected, I will bring people together from both political parties to make veterans a top priority, working to improve our state’s veterans hospitals, help end veteran homelessness and support our National Guard and reservists.  I thank Gen. Clark for his support and for his exemplary service to this great nation.”

Ross is a former member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and former Vice President and member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO-PA), an inter-parliamentary organization of legislators from all the NATO-member countries and associate countries.
