LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Mike Beebe has named Ty Patterson of Texarkana as the newest commissioner of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Patterson will serve the remaining 16 months of a term vacated by the resignation of Rick Watkins.

"Ty has a lifetime of outdoor experience, particularly in Southwest Arkansas," Beebe said. "His enthusiasm and experience will serve him well as he represents that region of our State on the commission."

Patterson, 35, is a partner in the Orr/Patterson Automotive Group in Texarkana. A graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Patterson grew up hunting and fishing in Southwest Arkansas. He is particularly fond of duck hunting and spring turkey hunting.

Along with current memberships in Ducks Unlimited and the National Wild Turkey Federation, Patterson is a board member of the First Tee of Texarkana and volunteers on committees for Opportunities, Inc.

Patterson's term will expire July 1, 2014.

He's 35 years old and wet behind the ears because he us the boat and then tried to jump in. I guess daddy made a campaign contribution. Way to look out for the good of the State GUBNA. Did you get a car fom them? To answer your question, yes still running.

He's qualified due to the fact Beebe is a dumbass. The power the governor has to "appoint" people is a very abused power.

You call that being qualified. He hunts and is a member of ducks unlimited and first tee and is a business partner. I am more qualified. I grew up on a farm, raised cattle, hogs, soybeans, corn and other vegetables. Worked on my brother in laws dairy farm and served my country. I hunt and fish too. Guess I am not a University of Arkansas graduate and have business ties. Guess I need to start joining all the clubs and put my hunting pictures on the internet. I did buy another gun last weekend.
