June 27 Arraignment Date for Martha Shoffner

Former Arkansas Treasurer will answer extortion and bribery charges in Federal Court in Little Rock in initial appearance for plea & arraignment.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Former Arkansas Treasurer Martha Shoffner will be arraigned in Federal Court in Little Rock on June 27.

Shoffner, 68, was arrested by the FBI last month. She was formally indicted on extortion and bribery charges earlier this week.

Her initial appearance and plea & arraignment following the indictment will be before U.S. Magistrate Judge Joe J. Volpe.

Shoffner will answer charges in a 14-count indictment.

The former state official is accused of accepting cash from an investment broker who handled some of the state's business through the Arkansas Treasurer's office.
