PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says a construction project will reduce Interstate 530 to one lane in each direction on a 7-mile stretch between Little Rock and Pine Bluff.

The highway department says crews are now installing barriers so all traffic can be routed onto one side of the interstate. The department says the northbound traffic will be shifted onto the southbound side of the interstate during the first or second week in May.

The affected area is between exits 15 and 24, just south of the Pulaski County line to the Jefferson Interchange.
