Clinton headlined the anniversary dedication ceremony of the Greers Ferry Dam.
This marked the last public appearance of President John F. Kennedy before he was assassinated a month later in Dallas.
Thousands of folks, young and old, participated in this celebration at one of the country's most visited attractions.
"Because his life was claimed too soon, in death he became for the rest of us, a symbol of the eternal future. He became the symbol for always what to become and America would always be a country on the move," Clinton said.
The dam is credited for raking in millions of dollars in tourism each year.
