EL DORADO, AR (KTVE-KARD) - A Union County man has pleaded guilty to domestic battery in a May incident that left a woman with road rash, broken teeth and other injuries.

Bobby Laray Preston, 42, of Huttig, entered his plea in a Union County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

The May 31 incident took place in the 300 block of Floyd Cramer Ave. in Huttig.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Preston reached through the driver’s side window of the woman’s car, began hitting her and threatened her life. As she tried to leave, Preston dragged her out of her vehicle. He then hopped into her car, held the woman by her hair and drove the car into a ditch.

After getting out of the vehicle, police say he continued to hit the woman, until neighbors intervened and called police.

Preston was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay $9,381 in restitution for the woman's medical bills. Preston is also forbidden to have any contact with the victim.
