Man Arrested after Body Found Inside Greenbrier Home

Michael Robb, 64, had been reported missing on Monday.
FAULKNER COUNTY, AR - A man is jailed after a body is found in Greenbrier.

The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) says Michael Robb, 64, was found dead inside his home on Wilson Road Tuesday.

Deputies say he had been reported missing by his sister on Monday. The woman told the FCSO that she had not heard from Robb since July 15 and no one had seen him since July 31.

When investigators went to Robb's home, they found a neighbor there on the phone with 911 after finding his body.

Investigators then discovered that there had been activity on Robb's bank accounts since he had been reported missing and that his vehicle was gone.

Howard Short, 38, of Pine Bluff, and a woman not yet charged in the case were soon linked to the activity on Robb's credit cards and a statewide BOLO (Be on the lookout) was issued for them and the vehicles they had been driving. An off-duty Atkins Police officer saw the pair in a McDonald's in Atkins and radioed for back up.

The Atkins Police Department was able to take the woman into custody, but Short drove off during a traffic stop and a police chase began. The chase proceeded through Faulkner County down I-40 and continued into North Little Rock near Crystal Hill Road, where Short was captured by FCSO deputies and officers with the Mayflower Police Department. He was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center and released to Faulkner County, where he is awaiting charges. The woman was taken to the FCSO for questioning.

Robb's body is at the State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
