Man in Critical Condition after West Memphis Officer-Involved Shooting

Incident happened outside of Walker Street Grocery shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday.
WEST MEMPHIS, AR -- A man is in critical condition at a Memphis hospital after an officer-involved shooting shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday.

According to Arkansas State Police (ASP), officers responded to Walker Street Grocery, where they found 41-year-old Nathaniel Lee Warren, of West Memphis, involved in an altercation with another person.

Warren reportedly pointed a firearm at the officers, and initial witness statements indicated that he refused to comply with orders to drop the weapon, and was subsequently shot by police, ASP says.

State Police say they are continuing to investigate, and a case file will be presented to the Crittenden County Prosecuting Attorney to consider the officers' use of force.
