LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas soybean growers have harvested almost all of the 2011 crop, though the small percentage of fields that still need to be cut are at risk of damage from heavy rain that's in the weekend forecast.

The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture said Friday that about 2 percent of the soybean crop is still in the fields. Growers were already challenged this week when up to 8 inches of snow fell in places on Tuesday.

The snow made the soil too soggy to run combines.

Some of the remaining bean acreage is in Clay, Crittenden, Cross, Lonoke and Poinsett counties.

The division also reports that the winter wheat crop is 98 percent planted and 92 percent emerged.
