LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas Supreme Court says the state's law on deceptive practices applies to Ticketmaster and its parent company — but the high court offered no opinion on whether the company's fees violate the statute.

The high court issued its ruling in a split opinion Thursday. An Arkansas man sued Ticketmaster and Live Nation Entertainment Inc., after he was charged $50 in fees to buy four Jason Aldean concert tickets.

Corey McMillan sued in federal court, and a federal judge asked the state Supreme Court to weigh in on whether the state law applied to Ticketmaster in this case.

The high court's opinion said Ticketmaster should be subject to a provision in Arkansas' deceptive trade practices law that prohibits the sale of certain tickets at a price higher than face value.
