Two Searcy Men Accused of Stealing Bucket of Chicken, Razor & Radios

SEARCY, AR - Two local men have been arrested after police say they left a store without paying for a bucket of chicken, an electric razor and four 2-way radios.

It happened around noon today at the Walmart Supercenter.

When officers arrived, both men tried to run from them. 

Jerry Hemmert, 24, was caught near the northbound entrance to Highway 67/167 off Race Street. Curtis Malone, 26, was found hiding under trash bags in a dumpster behind a Dollar Tree store. 

Both were taken to the White County Detention Center and charged with fleeing. They also face theft of property charges.

Hemmert was also served with a failure to appear warrant from an unrelated case.
