Update: Police Make Arrest in Searcy's Third Armed Robbery This Week

Preston Scott Landis, 28, of Searcy, was picked up early Friday morning following Thursday afternoon holdup.
Update (June 7):
SEARCY, AR - Police have made an arrest in Searcy's third armed robbery of the week.

Preston Scott Landis, 28, of Searcy, was picked up around midnight Friday at a home on Williams Avenue where police had served a search warrant.

Police say officers found prescription medications as well as a handgun matching the description of those involved in Thursday afternoon's robbery of the Lowery Drug Mart.

Landis is charged with aggravated robbery. He's being held on $75,000 bond and will go to court in August.

SEARCY, AR - For the third time this week, the Searcy Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a store.

The latest holdup happened around 1:00 this afternoon.

Officers were called to 700 Golf Course Drive (Lowery Drug Mart).

When officers arrived they were told the business had been robbed at gunpoint by a white man with either a dust mask or surgical mask over his face.

He was wearing a blue mechanic style jumpsuit and demanded prescription medications, police said.  

After getting the medications, the man ran outside the store, got into a white 4-door Mazda and drove away.

The suspect is described as being about 6’0” tall with a skinny build. Police say he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
