VIDEO: Guilty Plea to Public Intoxication, Resisting Arrest for Saline County Sheriff

Bruce Pennington answers charges in June arrest.
BENTON, AR - The sheriff of Saline County has pleaded guilty to public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Sheriff Bruce Pennington appeared in court this afternoon to answer charges stemming from his June arrest in Benton.

We're told that Pennington also signed himself up for in-patient treatment.

Special Prosecutor Cody Hiland says accountability needed to be held for the sheriff having taken a drunken swing at a city police officer during the incident outside a local restaurant that led to his arrest.

Tonight at 5:30 on Fox 16 News, we'll show the surveillance video of Sheriff Pennington from that night.
