Day 1 in the Books

Day 1 in the Books

Little Excitement as Razorbacks wrap 1st day of practice at Cowboys Stadium
Long day finally starting to wind down, I feel like I talked to EVERY member of the Kansas State and Arkansas football teams today.

Both schools held their "media days" at Cowboys Stadium this afternoon, but very little news took place.

The most notable nugget for the Hogs actually has nothing to do with the Cotton Bowl.

A trio of juniors:QB Tyler Wilson, RB Knile Davis, and WR Cobi Hamilton, all filed paperwork for the NFL Draft.  This doesn't mean they're gone, the just want to test the waters, and see how they were graded.

There's very little doubt that all 3 will eventually suit up on Sundays, but it would really hurt the Hogs if any one member of that group left early for the NFL.

Other notes:

- Arkansas WR Maudrecus Humphrey and LB Jarrett Lake didn't make the Cotton Bowl trip with the team, because they were academically ineligible.

- Kansas State seem appeared much more in awe of Jerry's World than the Razorbacks.  I'm sure this had absolutely everything to do with the fact that Hogs have routinely made the trip to Cowboys Stadium in each of the last 3 years.

- I found out that Kansas State players refer to 6-5, 226-pound QB Colin Klein as "The Honey Badger" for his likeness to the ferocious animal in the popular you tube video.  After speaking with Klein I politely disagree.  He's friendly, kind, and very unbadger-like.  Wrecking Ball?  Sure.  Battering Ram?  Why not.  But college football already has a Honey Badger and he resides in Baton Rouge.

On tap for tomorrow, we'll hear from Kansas State defensive players, and Arkansas offensive players.
