FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas interim coach John L. Smith expects an overflow of emotions as he prepares for this week's season-finale.

The Razorbacks (4-7, 2-5 Southeastern Conference) end their season Friday against No. 8 LSU, doing so with full knowledge they any hopes of a fourth straight bowl game ended with last week's 45-15 loss to Mississippi State.

Smith, who was hired in April to replace the fired Bobby Petrino, says he is hopeful to keep coaching after this season — though he acknowledges the possibility he won't be brought back by Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long.

The former Michigan State and Louisville coach says he'd love nothing more than to end his tenure with a win against the Tigers (9-2, 5-2).
