Catholic High Hires New Football Coach

Catholic High has hired Malvern head coach John Fogleman.
Little Rock, AR – Catholic High head football coach David Estes informed administration last month that he will give up his coaching duties for the Rockets in the 2013 season.  “David has been a valuable and beloved member of our faculty for more than 13 years.  His presence on the field has always been a steady and dignified constant,” said Principal Steve Straessle.

Catholic High has hired Malvern head coach John Fogleman to replace Estes. Fogleman has ties to Catholic High through family members and friends from Little Rock.   “John brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our classrooms and football field. He understands the importance we place on academics as well as the importance of building our student/athletes into admirable men.  We believe in his ability to inspire both in the classroom and on the field and that’s the primary reason for his hire,” said Straessle. “John has an obvious affection for the students of Malvern High School and that level of enthusiasm for their wellbeing made him a strong candidate for us.  We wanted a coach who could help our mission to build good husbands, good fathers, and good men and we believe John will continue that part of the Catholic High legacy.”

John Fogleman graduated from Hall High School in 1988.  He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in history in 1992 and subsequently coached football and baseball at both El Dorado High School and Bentonville High School where he was offensive coordinator for the 2001 State Champion team.  In 2007, Fogleman was hired to lead the Malvern High School football team and saw them through playoff appearances from 2008 to 2012 culminating in a visit to the state championship game in 2011.  He was named Coleman Dairy 4A Coach of the Year in 2012. He and his wife, Kilee, have two sons and one daughter.
