Wet weather moves in. Unusually Cool

Rain is moving into the State tonight and tomorrow with unusually cool temperatures for this time of year
Rain is moving into the State tonight and tomorrow with unusually cool temperatures for this time of year. Clouds and rain Thursday will keep temperatures in the low 70s for highs. A high of 71 in Little Rock would tie for the coolest high temperature on record during the month of July. A warm up begins going into the weekend, but temperatures remain well below average for what is supposed to be the hottest time of the year. Rain is increasing across the State from West to East, with light rain gradually increasing across Central Arkansas. Rain will pick up overnight into Thursday morning with heaviest amounts over Western portions of the State, where over 2 inches are possible. A flash flood watch is in effect for parts of West Central Arkansas into Thursday afternoon. An upper air system is moving into Arkansas bringing rain into the State. This system is keeping temperatures cool for this time of year only in the 60s and 70s. Rain will become heavier during the overnight hours as the disturbance moves through the State tonight. Rain will last into the morning hours, then scattered showers for the afternoon. Lingering clouds and showers will keep highs only in the low to mid 70s. Staying rather cloudy on Friday, but only a few isolated showers are expected. Drier and somewhat warmer weather returns for the weekend making it feel almost like Summer again.
