LITTLE ROCK, AR - Just because the calendar is turning to March, don’t expect any spring-time temperatures to be arriving with the change to the new month. With 10 days and counting with high temperatures running colder than normal, we’ll likely hit a full two weeks and perhaps a little beyond before we see a high of around 60…Which would be normal for around the beginning of March.

We’ll have some pretty chilly air working southward over the eastern two-thirds of the U.S. starting Friday that’ll reinforce the chilly trend that’s already been in place. Some areas could even see a few snow flurries come Friday evening and into early Saturday as the reinforcing cold air flows into Arkansas. For all the marathoners running in the Little Rock Marathon on Sunday, expect temperatures down into the 20s as the race kicks off early Sunday morning.

Our forecast highlights:

Thursday Night: Increasing cloudiness as we work through the night. Low temperatures in the lower 30s.
Friday: Mostly cloudy, breezy and cold. Highs holding in the 40s, with 30s across the northern counties. Brisk NW breeze at 10-20mph
Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a few snow flurries possible…Low temperatures falling into the 20s.
Saturday: Clouds to start the day…And possibly a few flurries as well. Becoming partly sunny for the midday and afternoon hours. Breezy, with highs only in the low to mid 40s, with 30s once again over the northern counties.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear and rather cold. Lows in the 20s.
Sunday: Mostly sunny skies. Afternoon highs mostly in the 40s except some 50s south of Little Rock.
