Three Hot Springs Sex Offenders Arrested in One Week

'With the technology we have nowadays, it's really hard to hide.'

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The map is big. The buffers are small.

"Each of these bubbles represents a 2,000-foot buffer," Det. Jarret Cantrell says.

Cantrell keeps tabs on the nearly 100 registered sex offenders who call the Spa City home.

"It's really, really hard for them to live within the city limits," Cantrell says.

"With the technology, we have nowadays, it's really hard to hide."

In the past week, Hot Springs officers arrested three sex offenders: two of them for lying about where they live or work and another for indecent exposure.

Police say 60-year-old Glen Lindsey -- a level-four sex offender -- was living at an apartment despite telling officers he was homeless. The apartment sits right across the street from a church and less than half a mile from this a Pre-K school.

"We've had patrol officers drive by and see him literally just sitting on the front porch," Cantrell says.

Cantrell says monthly check-ins and anonymous tips help his team keep his map moving in the right direction.
