Collision coverage is insurance to pay for damages to your own car in case of an accident. If you're in an accident, contact your insurance agency immediately. Your insurance company will try to collect payment from the other driver's insurance company if the accident was not your fault. Collision insurance covers any payment for damage repair that exceeds what the other driver's insurance will pay. Payment will never exceed the market value of your car, even if the damages will cost more to repair. Consult an insurance agent in your area for more information.
