Cars just don't rust like they used to. Simply put, manufacturers have become better at rust-proofing cars at the factory. Because of this, it's more difficult now than it was ten years ago to find someone to rustproof your car. If you plan to keep your car for a long time--15 years or more--rust-proofing is worth the investment. But make sure the job is done right. A poor job can actually hasten rusting by plugging up the drainage holes of your car. Finding a shop that has been in business for a long time is your best bet. And make certain that rust-proofing is their specialty. You never know: Some day your car might become a classic.
