The most extensive homeowner's policy you can buy is the comprehensive form, also known as homeowner's five or an all risks policy. Comprehensive insurance covers everything from your personal belongings within your home to disaster damage to your home. Some risks can be excluded from comprehensive policies such as floods, earthquakes, wars and nuclear damage. Because of the extensive coverage comprehensive policies provide, the premiums can be quite expensive. Make sure your policy includes liability insurance to provide for legal expenses should you be sued. You should have enough insurance to replace your entire home and all the contents should disaster strike. Consult an insurance agent in your are for more information about comprehensive homeowner's insurance.
