Cancer is treated in a variety of ways from conventional methods such as Surgery, medication and radiation to alternative treatments such as acupuncture and yoga. Alternative therapies are defined as those techniques that are unproven and haven't been scientifically tested, or have been tested and were found to be ineffective. If not used wisely, alternative treatments can cause cancer patients to spend precious time and resources with a procedure that doesn't improve their condition. But, if you have cancer and you're undergoing conventional treatments, you might consider complementing those conventional treatments with alternative ones. Some common treatments are meditation, aromatherapy, massage therapy, and music therapy. For more information about how specific alternative treatments are administered, contact a cancer specialist in your area.
