Holidays are generally a time of celebration, but for those of you trying hard to conceive, you might be feeling more stress and anxiety than cheer. Preparing yourself in advance for the holidays can make coping easier. You should try to stay festive by attending parties and family gatherings, but remember to be selective. Family gatherings can sometimes mean added stress, which neither you nor your partner need right now. Parties with lots of pregnant women and small children might be more depressing than uplifting. Your friends and family will undoubtedly want an update about your progress towards conception, so prepare yourself in advance how you'll answer such questions. Staying in tune with your partner's needs and concerns during this difficult period will help both of you cope. Groups are available for support, or you might try spending more time with sympathetic and encouraging friends or family.
