Positioning of the cervix

When your body ovulates, you're at your most fertile point. If you're trying to become pregnant, knowing when ovulation occurs can be crucial to conception. The cervix usually changes when you ovulate. If you become familiar with your body and its responses to ovulation, you can predict the optimal time for intercourse. At your most fertile time, your cervix becomes softer and higher. You should be able to feel the opening of the cervix. At other points of your cycle, the cervix never fully closes, but it's not as open during other times as it is during ovulation. Since your cervical fluid will be more slippery at this time, your cervix should also be wet. Checking the cervix along with monitoring cervical fluid and charting your basal temperature can be good indicators of ovulation and help you succeed in conceiving.
