Removable braces

Not everyone needs full braces when a problem is limited to one or two crooked teeth. For minor tooth correction many orthodontists use removable braces. These appliances can be used to get a significant change in a short period of time. Unlike conventional braces, which create pressure by being attached directly to the teeth, removable appliances are used in different ways. Some are intended to influence growth of the jaws to effect changes in facial structure. Some are used to keep teeth in corrected positions. Removable braces are also used before and with conventional braces. For removable appliances to work, they must be worn as directed by the orthodontist; otherwise progress in straightening your teeth may be delayed. Most often, the device is worn full time except when brushing. Generally, a removable appliance is cheaper than a fixed appliance because the procedure takes less of the dentist's time.
