Hobbies can be enriching at any age. They provide a welcome break during the working years and may even lead to another career after retirement. Hobbies can also present a means of making new friends, and they offer the sense of accomplishment that comes from mastering anything from baking to woodworking. In addition, practicing a hobbie helps to fill spare time during retirement. If you don't currently have a hobby, and would like to begin one, consider your interests and what you enjoy doing in your leisure time. Ask your friends and family for suggestions or check your local newspaper for lists of community events, meetings, and classes. For more information, contact your local community center or a nearby hobby shop.
