So, you've decided that you'd like to have cosmetic surgery, but now you're wondering if you’re a good candidate. Generally speaking, you need to be in good overall health. You also need to have both a good understanding of your planned operation and reasonable expectations about the possible risks and results of your treatment. Consulting with a properly trained and certified plastic surgeon can help ensure your treatment is tailored to your unique needs. Your doctor can inform you of the most common risks associated with your procedure. Remember that recovery from any surgery takes up to one year, and that any treatment involves some degree of uncertainty. Typically, insurance companies do not cover cosmetic surgery.
