If you own a business, you probably need a way to light your signage at night. Even after you close, lighting is a good way to 'advertise,' making consumers aware of your location. Fluorescent fixtures are good choices to light signage, as they give effective light, and are economical to operate. The fixtures are usually long and narrow, allowing them to light a broad area. In addition, they can be pointed either up or down, whichever works best for your sign. Another type of popular lighting is neon: it can even serve as both sign and light, by spelling out your business name. Ask a sign company for more details on business lighting. Residences can also benefit from sign-lighting techniques: in essence, your house number is a sign; if it's not properly lit at night, people may have a hard time finding your address. You can add a small spotlight, or porch light, to illuminate your house number. Or, you can get low-voltage types that are lit from within. Look for them at most home improvement stores.
