An individual item inspection is conducted by an expert who provides a detailed report of conditions in a particular area. The whole house inspector is a general inspector, covering many topics, and requiring broad knowledge. He or she does not cover every facet in detail. The home inspector does visual inspections and reports on the major deficiencies and items affecting the living conditions of the property. If a problem is noted by a whole house inspector, he or she may suggest a more qualified expert to review the problem area. For more information on inspections, contact an inspection or real estate professional.
