Finish

It’s important to check the finish when purchasing outdoor furniture. The finish not only provides color and texture, but also protection from outdoor elements. Look for a finish that’s deep and rich and has been applied evenly. If you’re choosing a textured finish, check to see that it’s not heavier in some places and lighter in others. Untextured finishes should feel smooth to the touch. When selecting colored finishes, make sure the color is applied to all surfaces evenly and that it appears to be part of the frame, not the coating. Remember, the finish of outdoor furniture is an important part of how it looks now as well as how it will look after years of being outside, so make your selection carefully.
