Arkansas ranks right in the middle when it comes to quality and use of mental health treatment laws, according to a study by the Treatment Advocacy Center in Virgina.

Arkansas scored an A when it comes to our quality of laws, that includes inpatient commitment, outpatient commitment, and emergency evaluation overall.

Where we failed to make the grade, was the use of those laws.

The state received an F, the biggest hit under that law was bed delays.

In other health news, a study of dementia patients with family histories of Alzheimer's disease found those with two Alzheimer's parents had more changes in brain volume and more brain plaque than people with one afflicted parent or no family history of the disease.

Experts stress the importance of early screenings for people at high risk, even when there are no symptoms of cognitive decline.
