shadill; sorry for your loss, and my sympathy certainly goes out to the 14 year old girl and her family. But... a 14 year old doesn't need to be riding an ATV near a road, period. A 7 year old doesn't need to be riding a mule, period. Machines kill; one has to have, and use, common sense when using them. And in this case, the parents should have used any common sense they may have had. I pray the girl makes a full recovery. Dad had a four wheeler, several tractors, hay baleing equipment, and a herd of cattle; they all can be dangerous if you don't pay attention, and use some common sense.

Everybody can say waht they want. But from a mom who has been there and has a son killed while riding an ATV, no one will ever know what or how it realy happened, just a life tme of what if's by the family. My son was 16, so the sticker wheather it was on it or not hold's no benifit as to where she was 14 or 16. And with multi broken bone's a helment most likely would't have helped either. So instead of blaming this poor girl, support her and her family to get through this awful ordeal with little or no greif, and pray for a good out come.

ATV's still have those stickers on them Butch. As well as ones that say "no passengers" one that says drinking or using drugs may impair your ability to use the machine and other safety warnings. But people choose not to read them and adhere to the warnings.

I was thinking that all that I bought had a sticker saying no one under 16 years of age. Might have changed that. I haven't had one since around 2001. But age would be my thought.

Roots, stumps, rocks, etc., on the ground on those high line right of ways.....she could have hit them, causing the accident....but....just my opinion.

You don't know how the accident happened? A 14 year old driving an ATV. No helmet. What more is there to say?
