JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Two Arkansas State University students who stopped to help a motorist push a stalled car wound up being attacked and robbed.

The students told police they were mugged Monday evening by two men they'd stopped to help near the Groves Apartments.

Jonesboro television station KAIT reports that police say 18-year-old Bryce Conway of Mountain Home said one of the suspects first demanded money from him. Then the other suspect started to hit him.

Conway's friend, 18-year-old Christopher Cruse of Maumelle, told police he pulled one of the suspects off Conway, only to have both try to attack him. Cruse ran off and called police.

The suspects fled into the apartment complex and investigators couldn't find them.

Lady, race is not the point--the point is that 2 "good guys" were attacked by thugs. Hopefully, the police will get descriptions from the victims and be able to bring the "bad guys" to justice. I've heard of other places where tricks were used to steal, like someone stopping really fast to mke you rear-end them, and then stealing your car. This is the first case I've heard where the good samaritans were tricked and attacked. Shameful!

...I'm sure they'll try that stunt again since all that great police work allowed the attackers to get away with it. Hopefully their next victim will be armed and more dangerous than the muggers. Oh well, as the saying goes; no good deed goes unpunished.
