LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Little Rock police have released the name of a man shot and killed by officers investigating an assault on the city's west side.
Sgt. Cassandra Davis said Saturday that 43-year-old Donald O'Fallon died Friday after officers Matthew Hoffine and James Anderson opened fire on him.
Hoffine and Anderson were placed on paid leave pending an investigation into the shooting.
A police report says the officers were investigating a report of an assault involving a man and a woman and that the woman said she and O'Fallon had been arguing when O'Fallon hit her. The report says O'Fallon then came out of the home with a weapon and was shot by the officers.
It was not revealed how many shots were fired or how many times O'Fallon was struck.
