CONWAY, AR - Conway police need your help in identifying two men who robbed a gas station clerk at gunpoint.
The armed robbery happened late Thursday night at the Gulf gas station on Dave Ward Drive. A store manager tells Fox16 the victimized clerk quit his job after the robbery.
UPDATE: Police think the same armed robbers may have struck again
In surveillance footage, the two gunmen are seen pointing their guns directly at the clerk. After cleaning out the cash register, one of the armed robbers forces the clerk into a back room. There, with a gun still pointed at the clerk's head, one of the robbers picks up a small box full of cash, makes the clerk sit-down, and makes a run for it.
"There's very much a sense of urgency about identifying these two people and getting them behind bars before they continue this and end up hurting someone," said Conway Police Spokesperson Latresha Woodruff.
Police hope that by releasing the surveillance footage, someone will recognize the robbers and come forward, even though both of their faces are covered.
"Who knows what they'll do next," said Woodruff, "and maybe the next clerk will put up a fight, and this could possibly end badly."
Police say the robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of money, and after the robbery, both headed East down Dave Ward Drive on foot. If you have any information about either suspect, you're asked to please call Conway police.
