This young man has had a loving home and great family! Have any of you ever thought he may have a mental illness and prison is not the place to send young men to be rehabilitated? Most all of us know someone with a mental illness....How about the courts get him some real help??? Our system has failed our youth with mental issues rather than sticking them in places where they can learn more about crime lets put them where they can get some help!!

It seems as if the young man wanted to go back to prison. Most likely the only real home, structure and friends he ever had before. I am sure he felt lost.

UNBELIEVABLE 3 YRS/20 YRS. THAT IS DEFINITELY WHAT'S WRONG. I know a man who has been there almost all of his adult life for failing pssss tests over and over and being sent back...never actually committed a successful (haha) crime. Arrested while breaking into a vacant service station originally.

Sheriff Watson says Rutherford was sentenced to 20 years in prison after his conviction on burglary charges in October 2009 and was released from prison in July 2012. THIS is the problem. He got a 20 year sentence in 2009 and was released in July of 2012. When the justice system stops being such a pansy and they start making crime punishable, this crap will of these low life punks comitting crimes will decrease. Stricter gun laws WILL NOT prevent idiots like this from comitting crimes. Making their sorry asses serve HARD TIME for LONG PEROIDS will deter some crime. But our intelligent government can not see the reality of it.

ALL gun crimes need to be sentenced under Federal Law with mandatory time. When a person commits a crime using a gun lock up in a Federal prison with a 20 year mandatory sentence. That would have an immediate affect on violent crime... I'd be willing to pay more taxes to build more Federal prisons...
