Bystander shot and killed after fight, police search for shooter

ARKADELPHIA, AR - The Clark County Sheriff's Office says a bystander was killed when a man shot into a crowd after a fight on Main Street early Sunday morning.

The sheriff says Jarvis Purifoy has been identified as the shooter but he has not been arrested. Police are currently searching for Purifoy to bring him in for questioning.

The victim was 25-year-old Jerome Caldwell.

Obviously a previous mug shot. To bad there wasn't a concealed carrier close by to return fire.

Hey jchow; My concealed carry instructor told me they hold the pistol that way because that's how it was laying on the table, or that's how it came out of the case.

Yeah, I can just see the scene. This idiot got disrespected, although I cant see any reason for him to expect respect. He has a pistol, maybe a Hi-Point or Larcen. He decides to shoot. He raises his pistol above his head, turns it 90 degrees, you know, gangsta style so he looks cool,shouts some insults and starts shooting into a crowd.

..only an idiot that is that irresponsible would be carrying a gun....they pretty much all are now...for PROTECTION...NEVER MIND THAT GOING TO JAIL FOR LIFE THING. HOPE THEY FIND HIM AND PUT HIM AWAY FOR LIFE.

Thoughts and prayers to Jerome's family. Why would anyone shoot into a crowd of people? What a dumba**. Are you sure that's not a yearbook photo? LOL

Tis the season... Dear Santa, I've been a good girl this year but there are some bad people out there. I have a nice gun, could you maybe bring me a holster? I'd feel much more safe if I could defend myself while out and about in central Arkansas.

Man are you hinting that they should call it Reunion Hall instead of ADC. Probably would fit better.
