LITTLE ROCK, AR – Oak Park Baptist Church senior pastor David Harris and his granddaughter died in a car accident on I-30 Tuesday night, according to the church.

The accident happened around 8:20pm near Scott Hamilton Drive. Harris and his 10-year-old granddaughter Maci were passengers in a car driving westbound on I-30, according to the Arkansas State Police website. The car was driven by 42-year-old Paul Harris and also occupied by 10-year-old Kaleb Harris.

Both Paul and Kaleb were injured in the wreck and taken to the hospital.

The ASP website lists a second car in the accident being driven by 37-year-old Kareame Cotton, of North Little Rock. ASP says Cotton, his 10-year-old son, Kareame Jr., and 42-year-old Keith Cotton were injured in the accident.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The 64-year-old Harris served as senior pastor of the church for more than 35 years. The church asks for prayers for the Harris family and their church community at this time.
