Double fatal head-on collision

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AR – Two people are dead as the result of a Saturday night head-on collision. The deadly crash happened on Highway 270 just west of Highway 104 in Jefferson County.

Arkansas State Police identify the victims as 55 year old Marsha Lynn Reed of Malvern and 59 year old Edward Ingram Beets of Columbia, Mississippi. State police reports indicate the accident happened when the vehicle driven by Reed westbound on Highway 270 crossed the centerline and slammed into the vehicle headed eastbound on 270 driven by Beets.

Anyone who feels the need to leave comments to this story that consist of anything other than heartfelt sympathy, Shame On You! Mrs. Reed was an amazing wife, mother and woman, and her family is devastated by this loss.

To the 2 ppl above: neither of u knew this precious lady. She did not hv her phone to text, she was NOT a drinker, it was her grandaughters 1st birthday. Theres another version of how the acccident happened. If she did cross over the line it was most likely medical related. You people do NOT need to post negativity on here. Her family is having an aweful time.

sounds like she dozed off!!!It has happened to me three times over the course of being able to drive...one of those times i remember hearing a car horn, woke up as i was entering the slow lane. Another time i just happened to wake up and was driving perfectly no problems..Although I do remember it was if I was outside my body driving the car.. dont remember the third time
